Privacy Policy

Effective date: 23 June 2026 · Last updated: 23 June 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Pulpit ("Pulpit", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Solid Rock Dublin mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@pulpit.ie or visit pulpit.ie.

1. Who we are

Pulpit develops and operates the App. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Pulpit is the data controller for personal information processed through the App.

2. Information we collect

We try to collect only what we need to run the App. The categories of information we collect are:

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account details. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (or an authentication token from a third party sign in provider such as Google). You may optionally add a profile photo and other profile information.
  • Communications. If you contact us through the App or by email, we keep a record of that correspondence.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data. We collect information about the device you use, including device model, operating system version, language, time zone, app version, and crash logs. We also collect basic usage information such as which screens you visit and which features you use, so we can improve the App.
  • Diagnostics. We use diagnostic tools to identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include technical information about the state of the App at the time of the crash.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Sign in providers. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, in line with the permissions you grant during sign in.
  • Push notification tokens. When you enable notifications, the operating system gives us an anonymous device token so we can deliver messages to your device.

2.4 Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect payment card details inside the App. Any giving or donation features will be handled by a regulated payment processor, and your card details will go directly to that processor rather than to us.
  • We do not access your contacts, microphone, camera, or photo library unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires them and grant the corresponding system permission.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Provide the features of the App, including sermons, Bible content, events, and other content.
  • Save events to your calendar when you ask us to, using the calendar permission you grant on your device.
  • Send you push notifications, where you have allowed notifications.
  • Respond to your questions and other messages.
  • Monitor and improve the App, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract. Providing the App and your account is necessary to give you the service you have requested.
  • Consent. We rely on your consent for things like push notifications, calendar access, and optional analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.
  • Legitimate interests. We rely on our legitimate interest in running, securing, and improving the App, provided this is not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation. Where we need to retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

5. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, the App may send you reminders and updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app under Solid Rock Dublin.

6. Calendar access

If you tap "Add to calendar" or a similar action, the App writes the event to your device calendar using the write only calendar permission. We do not read your existing calendar entries. You can revoke this permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

7. Children

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are between 13 and 17, you should only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the limited circumstances described below.

  • Service providers. We use third party providers to host the App, store data, send notifications, and run analytics. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate agreements. The main providers we currently use are:
    • Supabase (authentication and database hosting)
    • Google (sign in with Google, and Firebase services for notifications and diagnostics)
    • Apple (App Store distribution and push notification delivery)
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, or investigate fraud or abuse.
  • Business changes. If Pulpit reorganises, merges, or transfers part of its activities, your information may be transferred as part of that change. We will let you know if this happens.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfer to providers covered by an adequacy decision such as the EU US Data Privacy Framework.

10. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as you have an account and for a reasonable period after closure, to handle queries, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Diagnostic and crash logs are usually kept for a shorter period and then deleted or aggregated.

If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, unless we are required to keep it for legal reasons.

11. Security

We use industry standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage where appropriate, access controls for our team, and review of our third party providers. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to reduce the risk of unauthorised access or loss.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • The right to access the information we hold about you.
  • The right to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • The right to delete your information.
  • The right to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent where we rely on consent.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Ireland, that is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@pulpit.ie. We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request.

13. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from inside the App in the Profile section, or by emailing hello@pulpit.ie with the subject line "Account deletion request". Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to any content tied to that account.

14. Third party links and content

The App may contain links to external websites, podcasts, or video platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services, and you should read their own policies before sharing information with them.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
